New beginnings
I love the holidays. Time with family - wonderful traditions - an opportunity to reflect. This year has been one of major transition, providing ample reasons to look back: getting married, moving coasts (3,000 miles from family), and officially having to leave a job because of a genetic disorder. More on that later. For years, I have loved “health” and pursuing “healthy” things — eating well, working out, finding balance. Recently, I have found health is, in fact, a passion - not just out of necessity, but from inspiration and positive feedback. I have learned you really are what you do - what you eat - and the choices you make.
From this perspective, I was inspired to launch this blog - Love Health: Fit Five Journey. In the short-term, I wanted to stay accountable, in the midst of transition and during the often challenging holiday period, by setting a goal to lose five pounds between now {November 1, 2011} and January 31, 2012.
This challenge provides the foundation for my long-term goals:
- make decisions that prioritize health
- maintain my weight within a five pound range - aka the Fit Five Journey
I hope Love Health: Fit Five Journey will be a way for me to learn, prioritize health, stay accountable, and share my love of health with great food, fitness, and more.
